Islamic Socio-Cultural Values in the “Abuk Night” Tradition in the Betawi Community in the Cinere-Gandul Region
In Indonesia there are many tribes of various kinds. With so many tribes Indonesia is rich in culture. One of the cultures in Indonesia almost extinct is abuk night tradition from Betawi region. The purpose of this research to find out background of Betawi community in the Cinere-Gandul area carrying out abuk night tradition and to find out Islamic socio-cultural values contained in abuk night tradition. This research method uses descriptive qualitative which takes informants from cleric, humanists, and community leaders. For data collection techniques used is interviews and observations. The data analysis used is qualitative data analysis. The research results obtained from this study are the background of the abuk night tradition is the tradition existed since around 1800, originating from the teachings of Wali Songo, and the Betawi Muslim community in the past wanted to seek blessings on the odd nights the last 10 nights of Ramadan with give alms abuk cakes. Social values there are brotherhood and empathy also caring for others, cultural values there are dishes served and tradition from parents, and Islamic values there are giving alms, seeking blessings in the last 10 nights of Ramadan, amar makruf nahi mungkar, and connecting the relationship.
